After-School Program - Cambridge Campus
2018 Spring 2018 Fall & 2019 Spring

After-School classes, which are offered at the Cambridge Rindge Latin School in Cambridge, focus on learning Chinese language. The classes are open to students of 5 1/2 years old (as of 2/1/2018) or older who currently reside in Cambridge or will move to live in Cambridge. We also accept students from outside of Cambridge, but the number is limited. After their regular schools, students from Cambridge public school may take school bus to the Chinese School.

Everyday Class

First Day of 2018 Spring Semester: February 1st, 2018

Class is offered between 3:30pm to 5:30pm every day. This class is taught at different levels according to students' Chinese language abilities.

Elementary Level:
Students learn standard Chinese pronunciation and phonetic alphabet (Pinyin), strokes of Chinese characters, rule and order of strokes, commonly used structural parts and radicals of Chinese characters and word forms and structures. Students will develop basic skills to recognize Chinese characters and build certain amount of vocabulary, they will learn to read simple picture books.

Middle Level:
Here we put emphasis on training students to develop their abilities to recognize Chinese characters without any help and increase their Chinese vocabulary. We also emphasize on students' abilities to understand and use different words and phrases, as well as their sentence-building and reading skills. Students will be able to write short paragraphs to describe an object or a situation.

High level:
Here we aim at training students to develop skills of independent reading and analyzing. We will also enhance the training of students in understanding rhetoric and logic in Chinese.

Tuition:
5 days per week: $1500.00 per semester; if split to two payments, an extra $10.00 is needed for the second payment.

4 days per week: $1250.00 per semester; if split to two payments, an extra $10.00 is needed for the second payment.

3 days per week: $1025.00 per semester; if split to two payments, an extra $10.00 is needed for the second payment.

2 days per week: $780.00 per semester; if split to two payments, an extra $10.00 is needed for the second payment.
Tuesday-Thursday Class

Tuesday-Thursday class is offered between 3:30PM to 5:30PM every Tuesday and Thursday.

This class is taught with both Chinese and English, and is particularly suitable for children from American families where Chinese is not a spoken language or for Chinese children adopted by American families.

Tuition:
2 days per week: $780.00 per semester; if split to two payments, an extra $10.00 is needed for the second payment.

Registration Fee, Security Deposit, Early Pick Up and Late Fee Policies

For the students who need to be picked up at the school bus stop before 2:30pm on the regular school day, there is an extra charge:

5 days per week student: $50.00 per month
4 days per week student: $40.00 per month
3 days per week student: $30.00 per month
2 days per week student: $20.00 per month

Registration fee and deposit: For new enrollment only: Registration fee: $20.00; Refundable deposit: $50.00

Late Fee: A $20 later fee will be charged if the tuition is paid after due day. The due day for the semester payment is the end of the second school week after school starts.

Bounced Check Fee: $35 will be charged.
